Sorry Tom, you’re suffering from a massive case of confirmation bias. You’re thinking about all the things we have solved whilst not taking into consideration all the things we haven’t.

Global warming belongs in the same category as world hunger, pandemics, and crime. In theory none of them should exist but we are human and hence here we are.

Global warming requires everyone to live less convenient lives and that is the problem because on large, people just won’t do it. They won’t even walk to the shops or wear a mask ffs.

Consider when we were in full on lock down and our emissions were STILL way too high. The change in our lifestyle would have to be profound and we have to do it in the next 9 years.

Our emissions are still growing.

This winter in the UK it’s been warm. Ridiculously warm…all winter. And now we’ve just had 2 severe storms with the strongest winds the UK has ever recorded.

To sum it up, I think not having children makes one hell of a lot of sense. The odds of our kids living good, fear free lives is incredibly low. And the world can most definitely do without even more people.
