In regards to learning legacy technology, it's not the worst thing. You will find in most jobs in the industry that you have to learn and work with old tech, it's a part of the job. Also, there may be ideas and concepts that you can learn from them and apply elsewhere. As for OO, there's a lot to learn there and it is the primary coding methodology, so try to embrace it and master it. Such knowledge will serve you well.
