I would love nothing more than to believe that we, the people of Earth, can pull our heads together and work peacefully and with steadfast determination and conviction to do what needs to be done, and ensure fair distribution of arable land and resources for everyone.

And then I read about Russia and Ukraine, and see increased defence spending internationally, and learn how China is building terrawatts of New coal power stations, and how my own home country Australia is exporting 35% of the world's coal, knowing full well what's going on but not being willing to take the big economic hit. And I see how most people are living paycheck to paycheck and understandably have no room for thoughts about further sacrifice.

In the end, I just can't bring myself to belive that within any workable time frame we will actually do this.
