I grew up in Australia and watched a show called "Beyond 2000" in the early 90's, it was very exciting. The future was so bright and promising.

Now I can't find any sense of future excitement, and instead I have a deep seated sadness because people simply cannot work together and make the hard decisions to preserve this little blue miracle that we live on.

At this time of year when everyone is setting off fireworks for new years I'm wondering what on Earth people are celebrating. Either they are gleeful about trashing this place or have blinders on that are 3 inches thick.
