I don't agree with some of the tone here. You accuse people who don't see a good future for humanity (or for all living things for that matter) as being smug and then dish out a heavy dose of condescension yourself. You're not going to win people over that way.

What does the future look like to you? How are people living? Are we still making goods by taking resources from the ground? Do we have reliable food, medication, security and heating? How many people will die miserably over the coming century? Are we living like prehistoric people? Your vision would be way more interesting than just bashing people for taking what seems to me to be a pretty reasonable view.

If you can see a viable path forward that saves most of humanity and the ecosystem, let's hear what the specifics of try plan are.
