I agree with you, and at the same time I have nearly zero hope left. The biggest thing in my mind that needs to be addressed is the one thing that no politician will touch because they will be crucified by the public for it. Population size. We simply cannot have 8+ billion people (and increasing) on a world rapidly running out of essential resources. When the metaphorical river runs dry it's going to be a shit show the likes the world has never seen.

I choose to have fewer people, waay fewer people as the foundation of tackling the climate crisis and sustainability in general. Managed population reduction is much kinder than the alternative that we're going to see when oil, coal and copper starts running out.
