I agree that adaption is going to be really important. Here's the problem though. Regardless of what higher ground you move to, you're going to have food problems. Unless you're planning on growing your own food, when crop failures reach some threshold and countries stop exporting food, people are going to get hungry and many will die. I don't know what the solution is. The reality might be that there are just too many people for the "new" world to support.
