Great article. At age 44 I'm in the next generation up, and I count myself very fortunate that there was no social media in my teenage years. In fact, we didn't even have the Internet then.
I feel sorry for all of the younger generations really that are increasingly growing up with a toxic cocktail of doom. Global warming, pandemic, war, pollution, a declining economy and less social support from their government.
My only advice other than getting off social media like others have suggested is to be as active as possible. Find an exercise activity you enjoy, bonus points if it's social irl (for me it's table tennis) and get your heart rate up as often as possible. It makes a profound difference for me in feeling like their is a point to anything.
